Not having Teh Intarwebs at home has made me more productive in some parts of my life, but not in icon and computer graphics. Plus, when I make something, it then becomes more irritating to get the product of my efforts to somewhere I can upload it. But still, it doesn't stop me entirely, and I decided that it's finally getting towards the time of year when I can start using my new Christmas icon, so...

And can I just say: how beautiful was Tegan, actually? I never noticed whilst watching the show - I just get bowled over by the character being so loud and not terribly bright - but srsly, I noticed this whilst iconing Black Orchid, too: half the screencaps I have of her look like they were painted - the lighting just hits her so perfectly. She even looks beautiful in that ghastly soldier uniform they get her in in Earthshock. She may not have been the world's most brilliant actor, but she certainly packed enough character in to stop me from noticing that... which is kinda cool, actually.

In which a request is permission in disguise. Because it's for someone else, I'm not wasting time if I'm doing this. I'm talking about, of course, my art exchange project for 500year_diary, the Doctor Who Art community.

My assignment read: "I'm into 4,5,9,10. Currently in a 5 phase... especially if there are other men involved... like Turlough. Also a fan of 10/Master and partial to Jack/Ianto. And Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart."

I then queried and had verified that they didn't mind Doctor/Doctor slash (apart from anything else, I'm not convinced I could do a good Turlough - Turlough has a weird face, not a bad face, but unusual, and therefore more difficult to draw). Having confirmed that they would welcome some timeslashing action, I found I really wanted to get going.

Probably not of interest to anyone, really, but I'm having fun, and I know some people tend to be interested in seeing the steps along the way to something becoming a picture.

The joke in the 'She's an air hostess too' icon is probably only funny to a very small number of people (probably just me) but it relates to an icon of Liz Shaw's legs that is captioned 'She's a Scientist too'. I like that icon very much, and Liz is one of my favourite companions... but so is Tegan, and their striking differences as characters amuse and please me.
